USA Online Poker Bonuses
If you’re an American poker player you’ll be aware that not that many sites will accept players from the USA. We only list two US Poker Sites because of the handful that exist to date, Carbon Poker and Lock Poker are the only ones we trust with your money. As we build trust in others we will list them here on TopTenPokerSites.net.
Welcome and First Time Deposit Poker Bonuses
This is the most common type of bonus. How it works is you make your first time deposit on your chosen poker site. They then match it, usually by 100% but sometimes even more, up to a maximum amount (which is usually in the hundreds, if not thousands of dollars!). It doesn’t pay out straight away though – there is always a requirement that you play real money poker and earn player points. Each site has its own rules but normally the bonus is paid out in increments of X amount and you’ll have a certain time period to do this in (for example 90 days). The more poker you’re going to play in that time, the more of the bonus you can earn. Also the higher the stakes you play, the quicker you’ll get the bonus.
Refer-a-Friend Poker Bonuses
With these bonuses, you (and often the friend you’re introducing to the site) are paid a bonus (perhaps $25 or more) for bringing their custom to the poker site. This is great as you can refer as many people as you want, earning yourself some very nice cash. Your friends will also be happy as normally they can get the bonus on top of the normal welcome/deposit one.
Bad Beat Jackpot
On many online poker sites, you may see a ticker running (often displaying a very large amount of money). You may have wondered what this was – well the idea is if you suffer a really ‘bad beat’ (by which we mean the best poker hand losing to an inferior one), the jackpot pays out a percentage to you. The normal requirement is your hand must be four sevens or better (including your two hole cards). The hand must have occurred in a qualifying cash game. These don’t pay out too often but can be hugely lucrative when they do!
Reload Poker Bonuses
These are bonuses the poker sites give out on an ad-hoc basis to attract you to make another deposit. They work in exactly the same way as welcome bonuses do and can be another nice way to build up your bankroll (especially if you’re a good player!)
